Our client specialise in the design and manufacture of a vast array of automotive products designed to improve driving safety and comfort. Facing an exciting period of growth, they are seeking a smart, energetic and experienced Product Design Engineer to join their team.
About the role
Reporting to Mechanical Product Design Group Manager, he is responsible for all aspects of Mechanical Product Design Group outcomes for assigned projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide technical leadership with company’s mechanical product design and mechanical engineering.
Develop mechanical components and assemblies from concept to production tool release.
Use company’s 2D & 3D CAD software to design and release component and assembly drawings.
Ensure automotive standard product development and quality processes are adhered
Participate in concept reviews and provide advice on plastics and metal design requirements.
Project management
Key Requirements:
Tertiary qualifications in engineering preferably mechanical engineering.
High level of knowledge and experience with plastics, metal fabrication and press tooling.
Excellent capability to dismantle and reassemble vehicles.
Ability to create metal parts from engineering drawings.
Ability to use workshop machines such as milling machine, sheet metal guillotine and folder.
Maintain open, proactive and regular communication with management on project status
