Quality & Technical Manager

About the company: 

With a reputation for producing premium products, this dynamic FMCG organisation is experiencing considerable growth across all areas. To continue to keep their high standards during this growth period, they require the services of systems focused quality and technical manager to lead, implement, develop and monitor the quality management systems across the site. 

About the role:

Reporting to the General Manager, this “hands on” role will see you lead all aspects of the Quality Assurance and NPD, as well as developing and implementing all aspects of the quality function ensuring there is strict adherence to the guidelines set out in the quality management system. 

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, co-ordinate and manage QA & NPD operations to achieve business goals

  • Managing all aspects of the Quality department including driving the quality culture 

  • Oversight of New Product Development from concept through trial process, specification development, artwork and first production run

  • Investigate customer complaints in an effective and efficient manner

  • Implement processes and procedures as outlined in the Quality Management System

  • Establish and maintain records of costs associated with rework and customer complaints

  • Ensure all customer requirements are being met always

  • Provide ongoing coaching and development to the manufacturing team around quality process

Key requirements:

  • Minimum Tertiary qualification in Food Sciences with experienced in a similar quality or technical management role in food or beverage manufacturing environment.

  • Solid understanding of BRC, SQF, GMP, HACCP standards

  • Previous experience with New Product Development including specification development, artwork verification, production trials.

  • Ability to engage with production staff

  • Excellent interpersonal and strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to deliver accurate outcomes within tight time frames.

  • Translate quality strategy into a relevant vision and action plan for team
