Senior Food Technologist

A family-owned contract manufacturer, our client is a leader in the production and packaging of a range of health & well-being products. Now entering an exciting phase of growth, they are looking for an ambitious and dedicated Senior Food Technologist to join their growing team.
About the role
Reporting to Managing Director, you will be responsible in developing and maintaining new and existing products as well as manage the implementation of the NPD process.
Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain new and existing products and packaging methods
Product development and project lead for new product innovation including factory trials, customer and supplier liaison.
Provide technical guidance to internal and external parties throughout the NPD process
Review of existing product portfolios – identifying formulation and process improvement opportunities.
Manage and execute tasks in product development projects such as formulations development and product samples.
Liaising with key stakeholders across the business to facilitate the implementation of new products and processes
Manage the scale-up process when taking products from lab to manufacture
Ensure all practices comply with relevant safety standards
Key Requirements
Territory qualified in Food Science/Technology or equivalent
Experience in R&D/ Food technology or product development preferably within chocolate or bar manufacturing.
Working knowledge of food safety standards (BRC, HACCP, etc)
Demonstrated ability to work across multiple projects as a cross functional team member
Demonstrated ability to develop new products within the food industry
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to liaise with internal and external stakeholders
