About the business
Located in the south east of Melbourne, this growing food manufacturer has been supplying products direct to industry for over 50 years. Due to continued success and growth of the business, we have a fantastic opportunity for a results driven, energetic and dedicated individual to fill the position of Production Planner.
About the role
Reporting to the GM of Operations, you will be required to produce and maintain a master schedule which represents what the plant plans to produce over a specified period of time as well as bringing continuity to the purchasing and production planning process to meet forecasted customer demands;
Produce and maintain a master schedule to meet production targets, ensuring material and resources are available to support the schedule.
Lead and drive process and organisational performance in relation to production/supply planning
Procurement of raw materials and packaging to support production schedules
Set and regularly review safety stocks and safety capacities and ensure safety stocks and safety capacities are integrated across the supply chain.
Lead the weekly production planning communications meeting.
Initiates and lead problem-solving activities into complex and novel supply problems, issues and challenges, and involve all appropriate people in issue resolution.
Skills and experience
Minimum of 3 + years demonstrated experience in production planning and scheduling in the food/ beverage of FMCG manufacturing industries.
Proactive, deadline driven with a commitment to safety, quality and continuous improvement
Flexible approach to work with the ability to solve problems in a time pressured environment and reorganise work plans to manage conflicting priorities
Strong leadership skills, with sense of urgency and decisiveness
Able to write, implement, and maintain policies and procedures.
Ability to work effectively in a team
Strong interpersonal and planning skills
Excellent communication and influencing skills
