Quality Manager

About the business

With over 30 years’ experience in the industry, this privately owned organization, is a key tier 1 supplier to both the automotive and defense industries. Their success is due to their unique ability to offer a full turnkey solution from concept design and manufacture of highly complex components for the automotive and defense industries. Having recently expanded their operation, they are currently on the looking out for a Quality Supervisor to help enhance and grow their current quality capability.

About the role:

Reporting to Group Quality Manager, we are seeking a hands-on Quality Manager, to lead all functions of the quality management department. Managing a team of quality inspectors, you will be responsible for the implementation, maintenance and improvement of the Quality Assurance Management Systems and guide company personnel on all quality related matters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive procedural compliance, system maintenance and records management;

  • Prepare corrective action plans and reports – 8Ds including follow-up and closure;

  • Conduct internal monthly QAM audits;

  • Provide technical assistance, advice and guidance on relevant issues;

  • Liaise with customers and to develop Suppliers;

  • Deliver relevant training programs to promote awareness and consistency

  • Participate in new product development with the engineering and procurement teams;

  • Ongoing maintenance and continuous improvement of company’s procedures.

Key Requirements:

  • Tertiary or degree qualified engineer with 5 + years’ experience as a Quality Supervisor in an automotive Tier 1 supplier, defence or related industry

  • Quality and environmental auditing knowledge and experience

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, Internet Explorer

  • Sound mechanical aptitude and technical solving abilities

  • Sound verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to prioritise and plan work loads
