Purchasing Officer
About the business:
A leading manufacturer of quality branded consumable products to the retail and wholesale industry, our client’s portfolio of leading brands is some of the best and iconic in the country.
With a strong manufacturing and distribution network across the Oceania region, their vast range of products are used in the industrial, consumer, mining, and construction markets.
Currently in the midst of a growth stage, they are on the lookout for a dynamic Purchasing Officer to join their team on a 6-month contract.
About the role:
Reporting to the Purchasing Manager, the purchasing officer maintains purchasing data and relations with suppliers well as controlling optimum inventory levels of stock to ensure sales and business needs are met.
Responsibilities:
Compiling weekly requests for labels for all sites and any warehouse consumables, e.g. safety labels for CTNs, shipper labels, etc)
Purchasing of industrial chemicals, labels and packaging.
Keeping track of orders, due dates, deliveries and updating system due dates as required.
Maintaining accurate inventory data in Pronto and updating as directed by Purchasing manager (safety stock, pricing, economic order quantities (EOQ), lead times)
Maintaining delivery schedule for incoming overseas shipments, updating orders to in transit and correct due dates and ensuring correct paperwork is received and distributed to Finance/warehouse.
Key Requirements:
Minimum of 3 years demonstrated experience in a similar role, preferably within the FMCG manufacturing industry
Tertiary qualifications in Logistics, Purchasing, Supply Chain Management would be highly regarded
Good understanding and experience using ERP systems and inventory management/transactions
Good communication with a sense of urgency and decisiveness
Good to advanced literacy in Microsoft tools (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
